Scottish Sikh Education Trust

A new organisation has been born to promote and educate schools about Sikh history, tradition and religion. 

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

Our aims and objectives in schools are:

• Work closely with the Scottish Government and other organisations to promote cordial relations in our multicultural society through the education system 
• Assist schools involved in teaching Sikhism by providing resources, delivering presentations and offering schools and members of the general public guided tours at the Sikh Gurdwara (temple)
• Providing educational facilities and a range of services to students
• Make non-Sikh students aware of Sikh religion and the identity of Sikhs; seeking to reduce discrimination and bullying of Sikh pupils
• Offer services to those who are victims of bullying, discrimination or any other anti-social behaviour regardless of  background or nature

Our social aims and objectives are:

• Organise and participate in social, academic and multi-cultural(inter-faith) events
• Promote and assist in the learning of the Punjabi language in schools and cultural centres
• Run basic classes in English and ICT
• Preserve and promote Sikh philosophy, heritage and history
