Music of the Sikh Gurus 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
At recent Sikhs in Scotland meetings there has been disussion, particuarly by Harminder, on the Raags used by the Gurus. There are also now classes in traditional instruments used by the Sikh Gurus. As many kirtanis are reverting to singing the Gurus shabads (hymns) to the tune of Bhangra and Hindi songs, there is a growing number of people trying to preserve the musical traditions of the Sikh Gurus. Thanks to the hard work of there in increasing awareness and even classes teaching Classical Gurmat Sangeet. For those a little unsure of what that all means, please have a look at the short video clips below which demonstrate how the Gurus performed and instructed others to Gurbani. If anyone is even remotely interested in this I urge you to get involved in the classes or send your kids to learn.
